Optimal control of interacting agents

4 dicembre 2018 ore 16:00 - 18:00

Aula 205A, Sede di Viale Romania, 32

Speaker: Carlo Orrieri, Università di Pavia

In the talk we study the role of a government of a large population of interacting agents through the concept of mean-field optimal control. Specifically, we introduce an external policy maker influencing the dynamic and we study the propagation of its effects as the number of individuals goes to infinity.
Motivated by social and economical phenomena, we limit the admissible strategies of the policy maker to the ones promoting its most parsimonious interaction with the group of individuals.
To rigorously develop the analysis we develop a Gamma convergence argument and we borrow some techniques from the optimal transportation theory.
