Features and objectives of the pre-program courses

All first-year students are strongly recommended to attended pre-program courses in order to sharpen crucial skills for their chosen bachelor’s degree programs.

The Logic pre-program course aims to analyze thought and language to develop direct reasoning skills. Students will learn to construct fully thought-out, step-by-step reasoning through games and group exercises. Students will study fundamental theory to guide them in practical exercises, that can then be applied in all areas of their subsequent studies. The course is coordinated by Professor Ermanno Bencivenga, one of the world’s greatest living logic experts.

The Studying Effectively pre-program course is highly interactive and dynamic. It encapsulates a wide range of exercises and role plays aimed at developing principal learning techniques and providing students time-management and analytical-thinking skills.

Class schedule

The Studying Effectively pre-program course is divided into five four-hour lessons while the Logic course consists of five three-hour lessons. Both courses take place August 28 - September 8 for students admitted before April 2017 or during the Summer School session. Students will be divided into groups, and each group will have a specific schedule. Students cannot choose their group.

Students who are admitted during the September 1 admission test may participate in concentrated pre-courses held September 11-15.

The pre-program courses in Studying Efficiently and Logic require a minimum number of students in order to take place and have a maximum number of participants. Students are admitted to the courses on a first-come, first-served basis.
